Principal's Message

A Message From Ms. Follis,

Riverside Middle School Principal

Ms. Follis

Calling All Superheroes, or better known to some, Ram Fam!

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Riverside Middle School, Home of the Rams! I am very proud of our students here at RMS. This will be my third year as a principal of Riverside Middle school, and my fourteenth year as an educator. I have been truly blessed to work in such an outstanding school and be a part of a fantastic community.

The beginning of every new school year is an exciting time; faculty, staff, students, and parents all anticipate a great start to give our students the best beginning to help them enjoy a successful, productive, and happy year.

As our RMS students enter Riverside Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year, they will be meeting our esteemed league of superheroes or as others call them- teachers, faculty, and staff. While not all heroes wear capes, each one of our #EduSuperHereos comes with a unique superpower that will help prepare your child for 21st-century learning and college and career readiness.

Our non- caped crusaders will be guided by the catchphrase “You Count” this school year. Each day, we will be finding ways to recognize the superheroes of Riverside: students, faculty, parents, community members, and/or our school and family organization. In the words of Batman, “ A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat on a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended.”

To the middle school students, your teachers and I offer you our never-ending support. We look forward to seeing you do well academically and socially. You are encouraged to study hard, join our clubs, and become a member of our athletic teams.

To the parents of our middle school children, we are also here for you. Middle school is a very special time, with tremendous growth for children socially, intellectually, and physically. Helping your children grow through this period of their lives is also rewarding to us. We are delighted to be in partnership with you to help maximize your child’s potential.

I strongly believe that education is a partnership between school and home. The commitment our parents, administrators, teachers, staff, and community have to working together to benefit the students of Riverside is awe-inspiring. You are encouraged to frequently visit both our school and this website to see why Riverside Middle School is a great place to learn and grow. Please, always feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

As we plan for a school year like no other we have seen in the past, nor multiverse, our focus will still be to ensure that:

Every child, every day is finding a way to feel Recognized and connected,
Every child, every day is Motivated by new learnings and experiences,
Every child, every day knows they have Support they can turn to with their
       developing social and emotional needs.

Team Assemble…

Ram Up for a Super School Year!
