“New Jersey”

New Jersey, “The Garden State” is the fourth smallest state in the United States and there are 8,682,661 people living there. The capitol of New Jersey is Trenton, but it is not the largest city.  The two largest cities are Newark with 273, 456 people and Jersey City with 240,055 people.  Chris Christie is the Governor of New Jersey.  His office is located in the state capital.  The State bird is the eastern goldfinch and the state flower is the violet.

There are so many fun things to do in New Jersey! You might not know this but in New Jersey you can go to the  Jersey Shore, Skiing (Mountain Creek) , Museums, Historical battlefields, Indian Reservations, and Six Flags Great Adventure!

A cool fact about New Jersey is that on September 6, 1921 the first "Miss America" pageant was held in Atlantic City, NJ. Also, the properties in the United States version of the board game Monopoly are named after the streets of Atlantic City.
